About Us

Aamazon Natural Resources Consulting is a Michigan limited liability company and a certified woman-owned business (DBE/WBE) in Michigan, Wisconsin, Indiana and Ohio. We are MDOT prequalified for botanical/threatened species assessment and wetland assessment. We are also State-certified for NPDES stormwater soil erosion control inspections.

Bobbi Jones Sabine (President/Managing Member) is a Registered Landscape Architect (RLA) in the State of Michigan, holds a Master's degree in Landscape Architecture, and is now in her 18th year of practice in Michigan. She holds a Michigan DNR T&E Collector's Permit and serves on the Ottawa County Park Commission. She is a past officer of the Michigan Botanical Club and the Owashtanong Islands Audubon Society, and is currently President of Counterpart, a local businesswomen's group.

Lead botanist is William Martinus (botany/ornithology), who has been called "the best field botanist in Michigan." A retired teacher who frequently leads field trips, he specializes in Natural Features Inventories, including Floristic Quality Assessments.

Stephen Ross (entomology, botany) has conducted numerous insect surveys for the Forest Service, and has authored a comprehensive natural history for Mecosta County, Michigan, including many species previously unreported for that county. He's also travelled extensively in South America on birdwatching expeditions. A contributor to publications like Michigan Natural History, Steve is a skilled writer both technically and creatively.

Leon "Chip" Schaddelee (botany) is a retired biology teacher who specializes in complete species inventories (vascular plants, birds, herptiles, butterflies), rare plant searches, community mapping, and evaluating site quality. He's worked as a naturalist and has done extensive field work for The Nature Conservancy and the Michigan Natural Features Inventory. His accomplishments include discovery of new species in the state and rediscovery of many species thought to be extirpated.

William Pierce, RLA, ASLA, provides professional graphics and illustration services and design. Tonia Patterson (biology/ecology) contributes field technician services. Office support includes Linda Jones (word processing) and Vina Ryan (CAD).
